My Application

In order to be able to process your application efficiently, we kindly ask you to fill in the application form attached to the advertisement and to download the other documents such as letter of application, photo, CV, references and diplomas under "Browse".

Because it can be processed more quickly and because the electronic application form ensures that all the required information is available. Of course, you can also send us your application by post.

You will receive a confirmation of receipt, which is also a sign for you that we have received your application. Our HR team endeavours to provide you with feedback as soon as possible in the event of a positive application. Depending on the circumstances, the average timeframe is around 3 weeks. In any case, you will receive a reply from us.

Please do not hesitate to contact us on our contact page if you have any questions relating to your application.

Requirements

For all activities within our company, understanding as well as speaking the German/French* language is an unavoidable requirement. Activities in the passenger service even require perfect knowledge (native language or equivalent).

Jobs in the passenger service require a good knowledge of English (First Certificate Level). French/German* or Spanish would also be an advantage. When dealing with our international customers, any other language is welcome.

With a few exceptions, everyone here is a career changer and will be trained accordingly.

In order to be able to work the shifts between 4.30 a.m. and midnight, it is absolutely necessary to have your own car, because public transport does not operate at these times.

For the sorting, cleaning, freight and load/unload activities, you must be in top physical condition. People with physical ailments do themselves no favours with such a high-stress job.

Ideally, you are between 20 and 45 years young.

Shift operation

As a service company, we are on duty for our customer airlines 365 days a year, between 4.30 a.m. and midnight.

A sometimes high volume of work during holiday periods and public holidays requires resilience and stamina. Flight schedule changes, cancellations and the weather (volcanic ash, snow) also influence the work and make it exciting.

Workload

In addition to part-time opportunities (fixed workload between 50% and 80%), we also offer very interesting temporary positions on an hourly wage. Taking into account the minimum requirements (10 resp. 13 assignments during the summer months), the monthly duty schedule can be individually arranged by our temporary employees. True to the motto: "With us, you decide how you want to work"!

The complex entry procedure in terms of induction, the high safety regulations as well as the uniform require an employment period of at least one year.

Duty roster

If you are a temporary employee on an hourly wage, please inform us of 10 possible assignments or 13 during the summer months (June-October).

The duty rosters are distributed to the employees by the 25th of the previous month.

There is almost no general answer to this question. Full-time employees (100%) generally work 8.5 hours, while part-time employees (50-80%) may work a 5-day week, i.e. the daily assignments are correspondingly shorter.

Most of the temporary staff work short tours of between 3 and 6 hours. On weekends or during school holidays and public holidays, full tours (8.5 hours) are also possible. The shortest tour can last 2.5 hours.

Permanent employees with a fixed workload (50-100%) have 4 requests for time off and 4 requests for assignments with which they can influence their duty roster.

Initial induction

In the passenger service, you will start with a one-week course, which will provide you with the necessary system and product knowledge of one of our customer airlines. In addition, during the first month you will work together with your coach in so-called double tours until you have gained sufficient confidence for your first single tours. Further systems will be trained according to your knowledge and skills.

Cleaning / baggage sorting / cargo / load/unload: The familiarisation takes place individually, sometimes with a coach in so-called double tours.

The course days and the entire induction period are paid working days.

A well-groomed appearance is important and is a prerequisite for all employees of dnata Switzerland AG. The employees in the passenger service and in the domestic and export departments work in a uniform, while the employees in the cleaning/freight/baggage sorting/load/unload department work in work clothes (safety shoes, weatherproof clothing). The cost of the uniform/workwear is of course borne by the company.
